Tijuana Outreach Center

The Tijuana Outreach Center   YUGO purchased 7 acres between Tijuana and Rosarito (in Mexico) to build an outreach camp and Bible Institute in 1989. The Tijuana Outreach Center (TJOC) is located 15 miles south of the San Diego/Tijuana border, and within walking distance of Rosarito beach.
The Tijuana Outreach Center is able to house about 30 people inside its Hospitality House, but up to hundreds on its campground property.  Large groups (up to 500) are able to come and camp in tents or trailers. We do have bathroom facilities and a kitchen building, both with electricity.

The Tijuana Outreach Center offers a variety of ministry opportunities for all ages. We are able to host one-week youth outreach ministries, church family camps, and weekend construction crews.  Construction ministries include working with local Mexican churches or helping to improve the Outreach Center itself.  TJOC has also served as a retreat center and training facility.

YUGO hosts weekly youth outreaches at our Tijuana Outreach Center during the summer months of June to August.  These outreach ministries focus on relationship building between the Americans and Mexicans.  Groups will participate in ministering to Mexican children, teenagers and adults.

The Outreach Center also serves as the location for YUGO's Grace Bible Institute (Instituto Biblico de la Gracia), and is "home" to YUGO's full-time missionaries Martin Castro, Tom and Patti Coles and Chuck Motz.

Grace Church in Tijuana was planted in 1995 with the help of YUGO missionaries Jim Slinker and Martin Castro, where Martin now serves as the pastor.  Grace Church also serves as the location for a children's breakfast feeding program.

Ongoing Projects

The major construction project underway at the moment is the construction of the new Children's Home in Tijuana, located a few minutes away from our Tijuana Outreach Center.  Construction of the first building began in June of 2003.
Other proposed projects for the future of our Tijuana Outreach Center include the construction of a  dining/meeting hall for 500, an outdoor amphitheater seating 500, and a prayer chapel for 40-60 people.
We have a long list of ongoing minor projects that are always available at our Tijuana Center. This list includes painting, installation of flooring, curtains and shelves, drywall, outside lighting, weeding and all sorts of repairs!
If you'd like to come and help with any of these projects, we'd love to have you!  Maybe you'd like to bring a weekend group? Our Outreach Center needs updating for the thousands who use it each year.  For reservations, donations or additional information, please contact Leonard Janssen.
