ESL(English as a Second Language)

ESL ministry was started in Rosarito in January 2004. Michelle Miller currently teaches at two local churches in Tijuana, as well as at YUGO's Grace Children's Home. Fall of 2005, she will begin teaching at a local Juvenile Detention center in Tijuana.

The goal of these classes is two-fold. The first is to give Mexican children, youth and adults the opportunity to learn a skill that will help them obtain better jobs and working opportunities. The second goal is to introduce the students to Jesus Christ. Christian materials are used in class and the hope is that by entering the church building to learn English, students may feel more comfortable coming to the
church services held there.

Michelle has seen many students grow immensely in their capabilities and students that started as beginners are now in her advanced class. She has also had the opportunity to invite students to church and has seen people become more connected to the Christian community.
